Life on Campus
Thomas Nguyen (’12, CNHS) decided to transfer from another school because he wanted to change his major from computer science to exercise and health sciences.
But that’s not the only reason.
“I quickly lost interest due to the lack of human interaction within the computer science major and the other college’s high tuition,” Nguyen says. “My thoughts on another major and school rushed through me after a semester and I was hoping for something health-related. UMass Boston became my top choice because it was affordable, close to home, and has the major I want.”
Now, even though he volunteers and has three jobs, Nguyen is taking advantage of UMass Boston’s independent studies, facilities, and oceanfront location.
