William (Willy) Drinkwater has been working as an addiction specialist in the greater Boston area for over seventeen years. Among the facilities he has worked for are: CASPAR-CIC, Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Arbour HRI, Malden Hospital, Whidden Memorial Hospital, and Somerville Hospital-ATU. While a member of the Cambridge Health Alliance, Drinkwater was a preceptor for first year residents (Psych/Medicine) from Harvard Medical School on addiction and co-morbidity issues. He is a past listed speaker for the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) on addiction and stress issues and a current speaker for DBSA (Depression Bipolar Support Alliance). In addition, he has a private practice in Arlington at an outpatient addiction center called Right Turn. (www.right-turn.org) He is also a member of the Consumer Advisory Board at the Bureau of Substance Abuse Services, Department of Public Health. In 2007, Drinkwater was a presenter at the 30th Annual Harvard Medical School/Cambridge Hospital, "Treating the Addictions." His topic was, "Relapse Warning Signs: Past Views, Present Views."
