Graduate Assistantship

The Department of Counseling and School Psychology offers a limited number of graduate assistantships (GA) to on campus master’s students.  We accept GA applications in the spring semester only.

After you are admitted to a program, you may download a GA application and return it along with a résumé to Katie McMullin at katie.mcmullin@umb.edu after April 1st, 2013. The GA application can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.  If you are selected for a graduate assistantship, a professor will contact you directly via email or telephone.  If you do not receive an email from a professor before mid-June, we were unable to provide you a GA position but please consider reapplying next spring  The GA position waives 100% of the tuition and a percentage of the fees (it varies but is usually ¼). Graduate assistants also receive a bi-weekly stipend.  All graduate assistants are expected to do research and administrative tasks as assigned.

Before applying, please click here to review information on graduate assistantships, tuition and fee waivers, stipends, and weekly time commitments.

Incoming students may apply for GA positions at other departments. Please review their respective web pages for more information on how to apply (they have their own applications).  This page allows you to search for available graduate assistantships at UMass Boston.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Katie at katie.mcmullin@umb.edu or Dan at csp.admissions@umb.edu.
