Registration
Newly Admitted On Campus Students: You will receive an email from your Graduate Program Directors (GPD) by the end of May with further instructions on registering for courses. This link will help you log in to our WISER for the first time. You will not receive a “welcome packet” from the department. If there is an issue with your password or WISER account, please contact the IT Service Desk at 617-287-5220. If you are not allowed to register for classes, you may have a hold on your account and should contact the Bursar’s Office. Their telephone number is 617.287.5350. Please feel free to contact your respective Graduate Program Director (GPD) for more information.
Newly Admitted Online Students: You will receive an important email from your respective Online Program Director regarding course registration. Many of you will be taking COUNSL 606 (Ethics) this summer online. Here is WISER’s first time log in instructions. Those of you who are going to UMass Dartmouth in the summer will receive further instructions from your Online Program Director. Please feel free to write to your Online Program Coordinator, Dan Torres at csp.admissions@umb.edu.
On Campus and Online Students: As soon as you are able to register for courses, check with your GPD and OPD about what to register for. For fall courses, there is open enrollment. If you see a course you want but don’t have the prerequisite, check with the Graduate Program Director (or Chair) to see if the prerequisite is absolutely necessary.
All Students: Please note that COUNSL 614 is typically offered in the fall and summer; COUNSL 615 is only offered in the spring.
Non-Degree Course: The way to sign up for non-degree courses is to contact Kevin Ziomek at kevin.ziomek@umb.edu. If you need additional permission, Kevin will contact the Chair of the Department on your behalf.
Having Problems? If you are having trouble registering, you can 1) check with the Registrar's Office to find out if your account has a hold; 2) take a short online training on how to use WISER; 3) email your Graduate Program Director or your Online Program Coordinator.
Check with your GPD with regard to what required courses in your program are not taught every semester.
Got More Questions? Please feel free to email Dan csp.admissions@umb.edu or your respective program director.
