Terry Bontrager earned a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Brockport. He earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Kansas. It was from Texas A&M University that he earned a master’s degree in counseling and human services and a doctoral degree in school psychology. He has taught at UMass Boston since the fall of 2002. He teaches assessment courses in the school psychology and counseling programs.
Bontrager speaks Spanish, German, and Japanese. He has special interests in curriculum-based measurement, second language learning, and the intellectual assessment of English language learners. He writes the “Spotlight on Multicultural Affairs," a column that appears several times a year in the Communiqué, the newsletter of the National Association of School Psychologists.
