Leadership in Urban Schools, EdD

The LIUS Doctoral Program develops leadership and research skills for teachers, administrators, and others committed to transforming urban schools. Central to the effectiveness of these new leadership techniques are abilities such as working in teams, identifying and prioritizing problems, developing solutions for multi-faceted environments, balancing stability and change, and understanding and using appropriate theoretical frameworks and research methodologies. Coursework and research in the LIUS program focuses on schools as organizations rooted in political, historical, economic, and cultural contexts. Consisting of courses that are offered in the evenings and during the summer, the program is designed for mid-career professionals who wish to continue working while they pursue doctoral studies. Who are LIUS students?
