 AMERICAN STUDIES DEPARTMENT JOB POSTING   

The Department of American Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenured position at the rank of associate professor to begin September 2010. We seek candidates with fields of expertise in the US and global exchange, with an established record of teaching and research attentive to the ways in which US culture travels internationally. Applicants should have a focus of history of media (e.g.newspapers, film, radio, and recording industry) and/ or on history of migration/immigration.

Minimum Requirements: PhD in American Studies or equivalent interdisciplinary training; distinguished publication record. Teaching,  advising, and mentoring experiences in urban public institutions with diverse student bodies desirable.
