Our program is strong in archaeology and in cultural and biological anthropology, and prepares students to bring an anthropological perspective to whatever career path they choose. Our holistic approach is interdisciplinary and crosscultural, and self-consciously embraces an awareness of cultural, social, and historical forces that shape the world and the analytical tools that make them intelligible.

We offer a major and a minor in anthropology, as well as a joint major in archaeology and history. Our department offers courses specifically designed for the General Education distribution
requirements, as well as courses that meet requirements in programs such as psychology, American studies, criminal justice, public policy, Latino studies, Latin American studies, and women’s studies.
