Roy Lichtenstein's Brushstroke group added to UMass Boston's Arts on the Point |
| A major in art fosters originality and personal growth, engages students with the complexities of the world, and encourages a connection to local communities. The studio curriculum includes courses in drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, digital imaging, video, and sculpture. The art history curriculum regularly offers courses in medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, nineteenth- and twentieth- century art and architecture in the Western tradition, plus Asian art history. Our courses, curriculum, and faculty offer a profound encounter with the visual arts in all their permutations, an encounter through which students are able to develop a mature engagement with the demanding visual culture that permeates contemporary life. | ||
