For the major and minor in English, we offer a full range of courses in literature, language, and writing, from entry-level courses to the more than 20 different advanced courses each semester along with options for credited internships and for senior honors work in literature or creative writing. Currently about 450 undergraduate students major in English.
Both traditional and experimental courses are featured in the curriculum, and recent special topics courses have included Literature and the Great War, Material Culture in the Nineteenth Century, Postcolonial Fiction, and Law and Literature.
