Chester Brezniak
A founding member of the critically acclaimed Cambridge Chamber Players (New York Times and The Boston Globe), Blackstone Trio, and the Trio Capriccio, Mr. Brezniak has performed extensively with distinguished ensembles such as the Vermeer and Muir string quartets and the Atlanta Virtuosi. Most recently he has appeared as guest artist in The Capital City Concert Series, Montpelier, Vermont; with the Blackstone in the Baruch and Allegheny College Series and in the Rafael Trio’s annual festival in Ouray, Colorado. Former principal clarinetist with the Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Bridgeport Symphonies, Brezniak was a member of the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra while also playing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Harvard Chamber Orchestra under Leon Kirchner.
His recording of Alexander von Zemlinsky’s Trio in D Minor, Op. 3 was praised by Stereo Review, The New York Times, Fanfare, The American Record Guide, The Musical Times of London, and The San Francisco Chronicle. A new CD of mostly American music on Centaur Records with pianist/composer Jeffrey Chappell and flutist Robert Stallman is expected to be released this year. For the past five years Mr. Brezniak has been on the music faculty of UMass Boston and has coached chamber music at the Adamant Summer Festival, Vermont.
