Research Interests: resilience and protective factors that promote adaptation to chronic and life-threatening illness (e.g., cancer and HIV/AIDS) such as finding meaning, posttraumatic growth, and spiritual and religious coping strategies.  Interventions to promote well-being including expressive writing, self-care, and mindfulness meditation.

Master's topic:  factors associated with the development of posttraumatic growth in cancer patients (i.e., intrinsic religiousness, finding meaning, self-reflection, and other positive coping strategies).
