Ann Torke’s work employs an array of materials and multifarious strategies. Most of it is time-based and represents similar processes, sensibilities and compulsions. She has always worked from an interdisciplinary perspective with the belief that compelling art is a process of critical investigation, risk-taking and a discursive synthesis of ideas and materials. She received a BFA from the Minneapolis College of art and Design. Ann received her MFA from UC San Diego. She also participated in the Whitney Independent Study Program.
