Diego Mansilla joined UMass Boston as a lecturer in 2005. He teaches Advanced Techniques and Skills in Translation, part of the Certificate in Spanish English Translation. He also teaches different levels of Spanish. His areas of research are translation theories, pedagogic translation, and cultural equivalences.
Diego Mansilla has conducted several workshops on topics such as the use of translation in the World Language classroom, and the teaching of language through culture.
Diego Mansilla has translated and adapted more than 20 books into Spanish for publishers such as McGraw-Hill, TeNeues Publishing, Rourke Publishing, Treasure Bay, and others. He regularly translates for nonprofit organizations such as the Asperger Association of New England. He is also the author of more than 10 educational books.
