Kenneth A. Lachlan (PhD, Michigan State University) is Associate Professor and Chair of the Communication Department at the University of Massachusetts Boston. His research focuses on psychological responses to mediated information, with a particular emphasis on crisis and risk communication campaigns, and on new media technologies. Ken has published his research in journals such as Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, Media Psychology, Journal of Applied Communication Research, Journal of Emergency Management, Behavioral Sciences of Terrorism and Political Aggression, and the American Journal of Public Health. He is also the coauthor of Straight Talk about Communication Research Methods (Kendall-Hunt, 2010), and serves on the editorial boards of Communication Research Reports, Communication Studies, and Media Psychology.
