The certificate in archives responds to an exciting and challenging time for archives and archivists. Digital technologies are burgeoning, requiring new skills for capturing information and for disseminating documentary evidence both to scholars and to the general public. At the same time, those entering the field must have a foundation in the traditional archival commitments to careful preservation of information and efficient access to materials.
