Latin American Studies (Program)

Announcements

  • This information is for students who declared a concentration in Latin American Studies before the Spring 2012 semester

Latin American Studies is an interdisciplinary program housed in the Latin American and Iberian Studies Department and designed for students interested in social sciences and humanities, Spanish and Portuguese, international relations, or management.

Latin American Studies offers a general and comprehensive consideration of the literary, economic, historical, anthropological, artistic, and political currents in Latin America, as well as an overview of the living conditions of the millions of Hispanics currently living in the United States.

Our course of study prepares students for jobs in government and in both private and public agencies, as well as providing a solid foundation for graduate study. Many students enrolled in the Latin American Studies Program also gain richer and fuller understanding of their own life experiences or of those of the people around them.
