Key Dates:
1999: Latino Studies Program established as an interdisciplinary course of study in the College of Public and Community Service (CPCS). Dr. Luis Apontes-Parés, Professor of CPCS, is the first director of the program.
2002: The College of Liberal Arts approves the Latino Studies Program as an intercollegiate course of study.
2008: Latino Studies becomes a minor. Jorge Capetillo-Ponce, Associate Professor of Sociology, appointed director.
