Scholarships

  • The Knapp Scholarship in Political Science, given to a student for academic performance who has completed at least three political science courses. 2010 winners: Dino Dzino and Andrea Karageanis. Congratulations!
  • The Jack Carvalho Scholarship in Political Science, given to a student for academic performance who has completed at least four political science courses and between 40 and 105 credits at UMB.
  • The Rusty Simonds Award in Political Science, given to an outstanding junior or senior with an interest in political theory and in pursuing an advanced degree. 2010 winners: Sviatlana Chystsiakova and Tatiana Filipovich. Congratulations!

Graduation Awards

  • Roger Feinstein Award: This Award is given to a graduating senior who has not only performed very well in the Major as a whole, but also has distinguished herself or himself in Urban Politics, Public Policy, and/or Environmental Policy. The award is a book, and the winner is acknowledged at the Honors Convocation and the Political Science Department’s Senior Dinner.
  • Richard Landry Award: This Award is given to a graduating senior who has not only performed very well in the Major as a whole, but also has distinguished himself or herself in Political Theory. The award is a book, and the winner is acknowledged at the Honors Convocation and the Political Science Department’s Senior Dinner.
  • Maurizio Vannicelli Award: This Award is given to a graduating senior who has not only performed very well in the Political Science major or the International Relations minor, but also has distinguished herself or himself in International Relations. The award is a book, and the winner is acknowledged at the Honors Convocation and the Political Science Department’s Senior Dinner.
