Course Waiver Information
Policy for Course Waiver
To complete the MBA program, students need to complete a total of 57 credits/19 courses, which are:
8 Core courses, 2 Business Requirements, 8 Electives, and 1 Capstone for a total of 19 courses/ 57 credits. To complete the MSA, MSIT, MSF or MSIM program, students need to complete a total of 48 credits/ 16 courses, including core courses, electives and a capstone course.
Criteria for waiving a course:
1) Based on previous academic course work only, (Professional experience does not apply).
2) Must have received a letter grade of (B) or higher
3) It is up to the discretion of the Grad CM, but typically the course work must have been completed within the last 7 years at the time the student applies.
Course waiver decisions are included on the acceptance letter at the time of admission.

Students are required to complete a minimum of 30 credits (10 courses) to fulfill degree and University requirements. Students do not receive credit for waived courses.
Students enrolled in the MBA program are required to fulfill 42 credits (14 courses) minimum
The MBA program consists of a total of 57 credits/ 19 classes. MBA Students are eligible to waive up to a total of 24 credits/8 core courses. However, students that waive the maximum of 8 courses will still be required to complete a total of 42 credits. These courses would be other elective courses within a given specialization or general course electives.

A student who waived these courses:
- MBA MS 600 Math for Managers
- MBA AF 601 Economics for Managers

Would need to complete:

Plus 2 additional electives*
For a total of 42 credits.
Example 2 portrays someone who has waived 7 courses, and therefore would be required to complete 2 additional electives in order to meet the 42 credit minimum requirement.
To complete the total minimum of 42 credits, the student would take 2 additional electives offered by the Graduate College of Management to complete the total of 42 credits for the minimum requirement.
