Options for Non-Management Majors
There are various opportunities for students who are not in the management major in the College of Management to take management courses or complete specific academic programs or plans.
The Management Minor
Students who have a major outside of the College of Management are eligible to complete a minor in management within the College of Management. There are many majors in the College of Liberal Arts, College of Science and Mathematics, or College of Nursing and Health Sciences, among others, that would be complimented by the management minor.
Organizational Behavior Track for Psychology Majors
Students who are in the Psychology major, and who have been accepted by that department into the organizational behavior track within the psychology major can take the necessary courses to complete that track. The track, and admission to it, are managed by the Psychology Department. The College of Management Undergraduate Program Office will assist students in the registration process for these students, and still requires all course pre-requisites to be met. Only students who have the Organizational Behavior track with in the Psychology Major officially declared on Wiser will be given to take courses for this track.

Note: ALL pre-requisites for the courses must be met before registration can be processed.

All CM courses must be requested on a Registration Request Form. One the registration period opens, we will have a link to the online registration form on this website. Please go to the Student Resources page, and the registration form links will appear in the blue tool bar on the left side of the page, under the "Student Resources" heading. Please be sure to complete the correct form.
Non-Degree students must also complete a Registration Request Form. You will also need to supply a copy of your past transcripts that indicate the credits completed to date and note completed pre-requisite courses. In addition, you must supply a course description and/or syllabus of the pre-requisite courses that have been completed to date. In addition to seeking this approval in the College of Management, you will also need to have a student record set up at the One Stop Center (CC-UL). They will supply you with a student ID number, which you must also put on your CM Registration Request Form.
For example, if you are a non-degree student and want to take MSIS 212, Managerial Decision Making at UMass Boston, you would need to show a transcript that states you’ve completed the equivalent of our Introduction to Computers and Information Systems course and a statistics course; you will also need to show us a course description of that equivalent course(s). This will allow the College to verify that the pre-requisites have been met and can grant you permission to take the course here.
Once you submit that information, it will be reviewed, and if approved, you will be added to the course. If you have additional questions, please call the Undergraduate Program Office at 617-287-7760 to get more information.
