Amy Rex- Smith’s research and scholarly work emphasizes the AACN Synergy Model and focuses on spirituality and health in the acute care setting. Her current and ongoing research is funded by the U-56 Dana Farber Harvard Cancer Institute/UMass Boston collaborative grant and is titled, "Understanding Prayer as a Coping Mechanism among Cancer Patients."
