Bioinformatics for Molecular Biologists
Description:
The research of molecular biologists is facilitated by the numerous bioinformatics tools available on the Internet. The topics include DNA and protein sequence databases, sequence alignment, searching databases, gene structure, protein-function predication, molecular evolution and whole genome sequences. The laboratory emphasizes hands-on experience and problem solving, and how to avoid being misled by errors in databases and improper use of computer programs.
