Applied Exercise Physiology
Description:
This course is designed to supplement the student's understanding of exercise physiology (students are expected to have a basic knowledge of exercise physiology). The class will provide a general overview of the physiological basis of activity with an emphasis on current research influencing those factors which limit exercise and performance in the healthy individual. The course will cover several general topic areas, including: general metabolism, pulmonary system, cardiovascular system, skeletal muscle, and applied physiology of human performance. Major course concepts will be demonstrated in the accompanying lab sessions.
