Real Estate& Eco Dev
Description:
This course introduces students to the field of urban economic development in the context of real estate development. Students will explore the principles of economic development, focusing on the role of real estate developers, companies, community organizations, and government agencies in the decline and revitalization of neighborhoods, cities, and regions. They will be exposed to diverse issues involved in economic development, with particular emphasis on practical aspects. Topics to be covered in this course include opportunity and impact assessments, stakeholder analysis, and project management. A combination of lectures, site visits, case studies, and group projects will help student to gain an appreciation of the role of real estate in urban economic development and develop the skills required to lead and assess development projects.
