Clinical Practicum I: Acutely Ill or Critically Ill Patient
Description:
In this course, students apply the knowledge and advanced practice skills in patient care learned in Nursing 690. Under the guidance of a clinical nurse specialist preceptor, students implement the advanced competencies of direct care, patient/family teaching and coaching, and ethical decision-making as they assess and treat problems experienced by acutely and critically ill patients. Clinical practice in this course provides an opportunity for students to integrate advanced nursing knowledge with knowledge of disease pathophysiology, technical competence, and medical management.
