Fitness & Wellness

Description:
Students completing this course will be able to plan and develop a personal physical fitness plan and learn about physical fitness as it relates to health and well being. Students will also learn to set fitness related goals and articulate the aims and objectives of instruction in various fitness related activities, included but not limited to weight training, aerobic fitness using a number of modes such as walking and jogging, and an introduction to the regulation of healthy body weight. Emphasis will be on analyzing and designing fitness related activities with a consideration of safety issues and articulating carry over skills to aid in increasing the quality of life. This is a fundamental course that introduces students to the basic principles of fitness.
