20th Century French Theater
Description:
This course examines societal trends in 20th century France and the Francophone world through theater. In order to highlight the diversity of French theater throughout the century this course is organized thematically around questions such as war, cruelty, existentialism, art and love. Playwrights include Giraudoux, Sartre, Genet, Cesaire, and Reza among others.
