Labor Studies Graduate, Deb Sullivan, Associate Director with Massachusetts Nurses Association.

Deb Sullivan ‘02

Deb was factory worker in Quincy who went to work for the Health Care Workers Union after graduation. She completed a Masters in Labor Relations at URI in 2010 and is currently an Associate Director with Massachusetts Nurses Association.

Labor Studies Graduate Isabel Lopez

Isabel Lopez ‘08

Isabel was the Worker Center Coordinator at the Mass Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health. After receiving her BA in Labor Studies, she completed the certificate in Women in Politics and Public Policy at UMass Boston. Isabel has recently taken a position working on human rights in the Dominican Republic.

Labor Studies Graduate, Chris Hoeh

Chris Hoeh ‘90

Chris, a teacher at Cambridge Friends School, was first runner up in the recent Great American Teach Off. He has designed a model curriculum for teaching primary school children about the interrelationship between work and community.

Labor Studies Graduate and Massachusetts State Senator Ken Donnelly

Ken Donnelly ‘99

Massachusetts State Senator Ken Donnelly was a Lexington firefighter for 35 years before returning to school and completing his BA in Labor Studies. Ken is also a graduate of the Harvard University Trade Union Program.

Labor Studies Graduate, Jim Pimental, Union Organizer

Jim Pimental ‘08

Jim was a bricklayer and a high school dropout with a GED when he entered the Labor Studies Program. After graduating he was hired by the Bricklayers Union as an Organizer in Southeastern Mass.

Donna Kelly-Williams ‘07

A staff nurse at Cambridge Health Alliance, since completing her BA in Labor Studies, Donna has been elected President of the Massachusetts Nurses Association. She has also completed a master’s degree in health care management.
