Requirements

 

For an idea of how your Labor Studies major course work can be structured, view the sample curriculum. Students also have the opportunity to participate in internships offered by the Labor Resources Center, as well as the rich variety of electives offered by the university. 

To receive your Labor Studies BA, you must complete the following: 

  • 120 total academics credits, at least 30 earned at UMass Boston
  • UMass Boston general education requirements
  • CPCS Professional Writing Portfolio
  • Five CPCS foundation courses:
    • Concepts of Social Justice
    • Civic Engagement
    • Diversity and Cultural Competence
    • Media and Society
    • Concepts of Community
  • Labor Studies major courses:
