Project ALERTA Bridges to Success Saturday Program
|
The 6th Grade Bridges to Success program is a newly established ALERTA program. The Bridges to Success program includes academic enrichment, youth development, and test preparation. The program is designed to ensure that students have a smooth academic and social transition from elementary to middle school. The academic theme for 2007-2008 is drama and story-telling: students are learning the elements of effective story-telling, and practicing this through writing, reading, and even performing various types of stories. Students also play team-building games, take field trips, and learn how to set and achieve their academic and personal goals. Taking part in these activities helps students to build critical social skills and cement positive peer relationships. This program is funded through support from the Clipper Ship Foundation and the Amelia Peabody Foundation. |
