TAG Mission & Goals


Mission

To ensure that Boston Public School Latino students and English Language Learners excel academically, socially and personally, so as to improve their ability to succeed in high school and at the postsecondary levels.

Goals and Objectives

Goal 1: TAG students will be empowered to excel in school and in life
Objective 1: Grades of students who participate in TAG will improve
Objective 2: Students, parents, and teachers will indicate that TAG students' attitude about school improves
Objective 3: TAG students will pass the MCAS
Objective 4: TAG students will be involved in extra-curricular activities/ programs
Objective 5: TAG students will be in leadership roles in school activities, in employment, or in other community organizations/projects
Objective 6: High school graduation rates of Latino students in the TAG program will increase

Goal 2: TAG students will increase their ability to succeed in high school and apply for post-secondary education.
Objective 1: Grades of students who participate in TAG will improve
Objective 2: TAG students will pass the MCAS and/or improve on their MCAS retake
Objective 3: TAG students' SAT scores will meet or exceed the average for BPS Latino students
Objective 4: TAG students will be involved in extra-curricular activities/ programs
Objective 5: TAG students will be in leadership roles in school activities, in employment, or in other community organizations/projects
Objective 6: TAG high school seniors will be admitted to a post-secondary institution
Objective 7: TAG high school seniors who are not immediately pursuing post-secondary education will immediately enter the workforce and develop a plan for post-secondary education
Objective 8: High school graduation rates of Latino students in the TAG program will increase
