IMPACT ON EDUCATION
Robin Codding
Robin Codding,
Assistant Professor, Counseling School Psychology
Driven by the mutually sustaining relationship between research, teaching, and practice, Dr. Robin Codding’s work in schools, her scholarship, and service embody the UMASS Boston mission. In her classes she teaches graduate students how school psychologists play a key role in improving academic, social, and behavioral needs of all students through the use of systematic prevention and intervention activities.
As an Assistant Professor in the Counseling School Psychology Program, Dr. Codding organizes a full-day practicum experience that emphasizes systems prevention and intervention, incorporating research into practice. Her scholarship focuses on academic interventions (with a focus on mathematics), and accommodations for children with ADHD, as well as intervention treatment integrity. Prior to joining the Graduate College of Education faculty, Dr. Codding served as an Assistant Professor in the Ph.D. Program in Educational Psychology at the City University of New York (Graduate School & University Center). Dr. Codding also spent two years working as an educational & behavioral consultant with the May Institute, Inc.
Dr. Codding currently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Behavioral Education and the Journal of School Psychology. She is also the Co-Chair of the Research Committee for the Massachusetts School Psychology Association. Dr. Codding is a licensed Psychologist in New York State and holds her initial license as a School Psychologist in Massachusetts.
