Leadership in Urban Schools
LIUS offers an array of degree-granting programs for every professional with an interest in educational leadership. We are the only program in Massachusetts that has a distinctly urban focus. Students hail from public and private schools, district offices, education partners, and Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The diverse student body includes teachers, coaches, principals, district administrators, consultants and state policy-makers from many nationalities and backgrounds. All classes are taught in small cohorts of eight to fourteen students, emphasizing case studies and a close connection between theory and practice within the urban educational context. The LIUS degrees may offer the next step on your salary scale, but more importantly, they offer an intellectual and moral challenge for those who wish to provide better answers to the problems facing education today.
