Dr. Leonard’s teaching and research interests focus on urban school leadership, school reform, school-community partnerships, cultural reform models, and the history of educational reform. Prior to coming to the Graduate College of Education, he served in the Boston Public Schools as both teacher and administrator and then Headmaster of the award-winning Noonan Business Academy.
Dr. Leonard teaches courses in the both the Educational Administration Masters degree program and Leadership in Urban Schools Doctoral program.
