The Philosophy Club meets every Friday

Is there a God? Is war moral? Is lying acceptable if it serves a greater good? The aim of the Philosophy Department is to help students gain insight into, and a critical understanding of persistent and fundamental philosophical problems; appreciate the ongoing importance of philosophical investigation and study, and become reflective, responsible citizens. In its broadest terms, the department’s mission is to contribute to maximum human awareness, critical understanding, and rational action. Our graduates are equipped with interpretive, analytical, and argumentative skills and pursue careers in journalism, the arts, business, and education or go on to further study in philosophy.
