Additional Information
Prior to joining UMass Boston, Professor Szinovacz served as the Sue Faulkner Scribner Distinguished Professor in Geriatrics at the Glennan Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She has also held faculty and research positions at Old Dominion University, University of Illinois, Florida State University, and Pennsylvania State University.
She has consulted on projects with AARP, European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research (Vienna, Austria), and Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute, among others.
Professor Szinovacz is a Fellow at the National Council on Family Relations and the Gerontological Society of America. She has earned numerous research grants from the National Institute on Aging, AARP, Andus Foundation, and Hartford Foundation.
