Basic Faculty Information in afrWeb

The “Faculty” tab displays your basic personal information, including your name, department, rank, office location (optional), phone number (optional), and a box to check to indicate if you are inactive.

If you would like to change this information, select “Edit” to the left of your name. This option will allow you to change your name, department, rank, office, phone, and e-mail. Once you have corrected this information, select “Update.” If you decide not to make the changes permanent, simply press the “Cancel” link and the modifications, if any, will not take effect.

In addition to this information that was provided by your college, there is the option to include more detailed biographical information. Click on the “More” link to the far right of your listing.

This link takes you to a screen that allows you to enter the following information:

  • UMS ID: This is the number that you use to enter WISER.
  • User Name (NOT EMAIL): In most cases, this will be your firstname.lastname
  • Status: This drop-down menu allows you to choose from the following options: Adjunct, Non-tenure track, Tenure track, and Tenured
  • Year first UMB appt:
  • Employment:
  • Involvement: This drop-down menu applies to whether you are “Membership”, “Supporting/Resource”, or “Leadership/Chairman” Membership indicates that you actively engage in the activities of the school in matters beyond direct teaching responsibilities.
  • Discipline: Choose your discipline from the listing available. This may be different from your department, which can be changed by clicking the “Edit” button to the left of your name.
  • Qualifications: Choose from AQ (Academically qualified: faculty that have research experience), PQ (Professionally qualified: faculty with no research experience, but practical experience instead), AQ/PQ, or None. Please see your dean if you have questions on your status.
  • Highest Deg:
  • Highest Deg Inst: This field is optional.
  • Highest Deg Year:
  • Gender: This field is optional.
  • Race: This field is optional.

* Please note that the information in the “More” section is mostly optional, except for those fields included on your AFR. None of the information is intended to be linked with another database. However, this information may be useful in the future when there are additional options for the use of this system.

After you have made the appropriate changes, select “Update” to save the information or “Cancel” to abandon changes.
