Review of Senior Academic Administrators
MEMORANDUM FOR: University Community
FROM: Winston Langley, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
SUBJECT: Review of Senior Academic Administrators
DATE: October 1, 2009
This semester I will conduct reviews of two senior academic administrators according to university and campus guidelines. The senior academic administrators being reviewed are Daniel Ortiz, University Librarian; and Stephen Crosby, Dean of the McCormack Graduate School of Policy Studies.
How to Participate
I encourage broad participation from the university community in the review of senior academic administrators. You may contribute to the review process by providing your candid and anonymous assessment of a senior academic administrator’s performance using the coversheet and questionnaire that can be found via these links:
Questionnaire for Dr. Daniel Ortiz
Questionnaire for Dean Stephen Crosby
The review committee will accept both hard copies and electronic copies of questionnaires until October 23, 2009. Detailed instructions appear on the questionnaires. The review committees and I will consider your comments carefully. Thank you for assisting with these important reviews.
Review Committees
I have consulted with college and university governance units and have charged two distinguished review committees to assist me by soliciting and analyzing information about the deans’ administrative knowledge, skills, and accomplishments. I am confident that the committees will help me to conduct fair and thorough reviews.
