The Minor in Classical Studies

Students majoring in another discipline may wish to deepen and enrich their understanding by minoring in a classical studies. These students must take a total of six courses to complete the minor program of study. The requirements for the minor in classical studies are as follows:

Requirements

I. Six classics courses, of which no more than two may be at the 100 level, and at least two of which must be at the 300 level.

II. Latin or Greek language courses may be substituted for up to two of the required six classics courses. Latin 101 or Greek 101 may only be counted if the second semester of the elementary sequence (Latin 102 or Greek 102) has also been taken.

III. With departmental approval, one of the six courses may be taken in an allied department.
