Registration for the October 2009 Portfolio has ended.

Oct. 26th (M): Portfolios due by 4:00 p.m. in the WP Office (CC/2/2100).

Oct. 30th (F): Results e-mailed to students at 5:00 p.m. and posted on WISER.

Nov. 2nd (M) to 6th (F): Counseling period for students who want to appeal.

Nov. 9th (M): Appeals due by 4:00 p.m. at WP Office (CC/2/2100).

Nov. 12th (Th): Appeals results e-mailed to students and posted on WISER.

The Schedule for January 2010: Exams, January 4th & 5th; Portfolios Due on January 4th

Registration Period: Dec. 1st (M) to Dec. 29th (T) at 5:00 p.m.

Jan. 4th (M): Reading Set A timed-essay exam, 10:00 a.m.

Jan. 4th (M): Reading Set B timed-essay exam, 6:00 p.m.

Jan. 4th (M): Portfolios due by 4:00 p.m. in the WP Office (CC/2/2100)

Jan. 5th: (T): Reading Set C timed-essay exam, 10:00 a.m.

Jan. 14th: (Th): Results e-mailed to students at 5:00 p.m. and posted on WISER.

Jan. 15th (F) to 22nd (F): Counseling period for students who want to appeal.

Jan. 25rd (M): Appeals due by 4:00 p.m. at WP Office (CC/2/2100).

Jan. 27th (W): Results e-mailed to students at 5:00 p.m. and posted on WISER.

Note: All timed essay exams are in the Campus Center Ballroom (CC/3).

Writing Proficiency Registration

Registration for the June 2009 WPE begins on May 4th and ends on June 1st.

From May 4th to June 1st you register for the WPE by chosing a reading set and sending an email to the address of that set.

Timed-Essay Exams:

In the Subject field, please write your choice: i.e. Register for Portfolio. In the text, give your full name and UMS number. Then, send the e-mail. An AutoReply e-mail will be sent to you after you have registered with instructions on how to access the reading set.

Because the reading set is password protected, the AutoReply e-mail that you will receive after you have registered will have three components: an URL address; a Username; and Password. Go to the URL address and enter the Username and Password to access the reading set as a PDF.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have set up filters to restrict mail reaching your Inbox, our e-mail with the instructions on how to access the reading set may be sent to your Junk or Bulk Mail folder. So, if you do not find our e-mail in your Inbox within an hour, please check your Junk or Bulk Mail folder.
