The Premedical Studies & Health Related Careers Program
The program offers matriculated students and post-baccalaureate students a comprehensive curriculum and advising support as they prepare for a career in medicine and health-related fields. Students enrolled in the program have the opportunity to pre-register for courses. For matriculated students, successful completion of the program is recorded on official university transcripts when they have met all graduation requirements, provided that no more than two courses from their major are included.
The faculty director supervises the overall functioning of the certificate program. Students are required to take a minimum of six science courses, at least four of them at UMass Boston. These courses include the basic courses in math, chemistry, physics, and biology, and may also include advanced science courses.
