Native Tribal Scholars
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Indian Education, the Native Tribal Scholars Program represents a partnership amount UMass Boston, the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, and the North American Indian Center of Boston (NAICOB). Native Tribal Scholars serves high school students of American Indian/Native Alaskan heritage (members of state or federally recognized tribes and residing in Massachusetts), providing them with the skills and motivation necessary for access to and success in post-secondary education. Through an intensive summer residential experience and an academic-year component, the program offers an array of culturally relevant academic, personal enrichment and college/career services to supplement public education and address individual academic needs.
