UMB Recycling & Sustainability FAQ

In accordance with UMass Boston's Recycling Policy and Massachusetts State Regulations for solid waste, the following may not be disposed as trash and are currently being recycled. Please help ensure that these materials, wherever applicable to your operation, are removed from the waste stream.

• All paper (no sorting needed)
• Glass containers, Metal containers, Plastics (#1, #5)
• Cardboard
• Bulk goods (metal lockers/furniture/obsolete equipment/refrigerators)
• Leaves and yard waste
• Pre-consumer food waste (only from cafeterias and coffee stands)
• Wooden Pallets
• Computers, toner cartridges and electronic equipment
