Leaving UMass
This program is designed for employees who lose their jobs as a result of layoffs, staff reductions, departmental re-organizations and other funding exigencies. It is also for employees looking for a job or career change, seeking assistance with career planning, and/or looking to improve job search skills and resume writing.
Depending on your need, some or all of the program components may apply. This program reviews the process for concluding employment at the university; reviews benefit options upon leaving the University; helps employees develop techniques to cope with job loss, job dissatisfaction and/or job search stress; describes how and where to start the process of finding a new job, and/or enhancing individual marketability for a new job; and explains the role of a One-Stop Career Center and the resources it provides.
