Compensation

Manages university compensation, classification, staffing and performance management programs.

  • Provides consultative services to managers, supervisors and employees on compensation, classification, and pay issues and with management on staff development issues related to classification and compensation programs;
  • Administers professional staff salary administration program, including classification of new and revised job descriptions;
  • Develops and implements compensation and classification studies, programs and structures;
  • Conducts market surveys and reports;
  • Reviews requests for equity, compression, supervisory differential adjustments, promotions and reallocations;
  • Provides ongoing review of job descriptions for professional and classified staff, and works with university staff to anticipate departmental reorganizations, recruitment, redefined positions and assistance with succession planning;
  • Manages visa petitions for J-1 and H1-B visas for faculty, research scholars and staff on all funding sources;
  • Conducts outreach and training programs, and develops guidelines and handbooks, on compensation and classification policies and procedures.
