Leave Services

Administers the various types of personal leaves available to employees, such as maternity, FMLA, and worker’s compensation.

  • Oversees compliance with leaves taken in accordance with Federal, State, Trustee, UMass System, university and Union provisions, policies and procedures and other related agencies;
  • Manages all personal leaves, and unpaid professional leaves, including medical leaves, the sick leave banks, extended sick leave, military leaves, and leaves under the Family and Medical Leave Act;
  • Administers the Workers’ Compensation program for employees of the university, including all eligibility requirements, claims, documentation and other related procedures;
  • Communications with employees regarding return to work and proper medical documentation, possible temporary modified work programs and coordination with their supervisors;
  • Conducts outreach and training programs, and develops guidelines and handbooks, on leave policies and procedures.
