Membership

1.   Architectural and Landscape Design

  • Develop and recommend design guidelines and built-form parameters for all campus buildings.  Elements to be considered include, but are not limited to, building placement, height and orientation, facades, materials, relationship to open spaces, signage, accessibility, campus-wide needs (i.e. storage), sustainability, and safety planning.
  • Develop and recommend standards and guidelines for green, open spaces (i.e. site landscaping, plant materials).
  • Coordination with Subcommittees on Campus Housing and Athletics may be necessary

2.   Infrastructure & Energy

  • Working with DCAM, documents the capacity and existing conditions of the utility infrastructure to support future campus growth and development of campus utility systems.
  • Project the utility infrastructure needs of the campus particularly for phase I of the Master Plan and over the 25-yr timeframe.
  • Study and recommend renewable energy options and sustainability goals.

3.   Parking & Transportation

  • Recommend strategies and policies for improving vehicular and pedestrian circulation as changes to the campus are implemented.
  • Develop strategies for incorporating multi-modal transportation alternatives into the design of the campus.

4.   Campus Housing

  • Recommend programming needs of new resident halls (i.e. suite arrangements, apartments, or single/double rooms; dining; recreation, etc.)
  • Develop operating and capital cost estimates for new campus housing.

6.   Information Technology

7.  Campus Mitigation (Quality of Life)

  • Develop mitigation measures that will help to ensure continuity of university operations during campus construction.
  • Specific areas that will require mitigation plans include parking and transportation, noise on the campus and in the surrounding neighborhood, and signage
  • Working with the Space Committee, the use of temporary space for teaching, research and administration should be considered and coordinated with Academic Affairs.
