Welcome to PeopleSoft HR Upgrade!
UMass Boston is participating in the University-wide upgrade of the PeopleSoft Human Resources system. Since 2002 all five UMass campuses and the President’s Office have been using v7.6, a Windows-based version of the application for personnel, timekeeping, payroll and benefits functions. We will be upgrading to v9, a completely web-based version of the system.
A collaborative effort of the campuses, the University Information Technology Services (UITS), and consulting partners Cedar-Crestone and Executive Alliance, the HR Upgrade project is intended to increase the HR application’s functionality and services. In particular, new self-service features will allow employees to view and update personal data on line.
Concurrent with the technical upgrade of the software, the campus will engage in a review of current business processes to incorporate “best practices” and streamline the way we do business. In March of 2008 consultants from Executive Alliance will meet with groups of users on campus to document current business processes. Later in the year proposed redesigns will be presented to the campus for review.
