Nursing — Admission Requirements
Please see the general statement of admission requirements for all graduate studies programs in the “Admissions” section of this publication. Prospective graduate students in nursing will also meet these specific criteria for admission to the PhD Program in Nursing:
- A baccalaureate degree in nursing from an NLNAC (National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission) or CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) accredited program.
- A master’s degree in nursing,* with a minimum GPA of 3.3.
*Applicants holding non-nursing master’s degrees who have established professional records in nursing will be considered for admission on an individual basis. - A current unrestricted Massachusetts RN license, or eligibility for licensure.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience.
- Acceptable scores on the Graduate Record Examination.
